Day Off

Howland and our Bruins slaughtered Chico St in our exhibition on Monday with most of our key players on the bench, but even so - our coach is not happy. Howland spoke to the media on Tuesday and indicated he was not satisfied with the state of the team:

"No, I’m mad. Darren Collison is out. Mike Roll is out. Josh [Shipp]’s thumb is bothering him. James Keefe isn’t healthy. The bottom line is that last night we had seven of 11 guys on scholarship, so no. But again, we don’t control that. It doesn’t do any good to mope, but the reality is no, I’m not happy about that.

With young cocky college athletes being treated like royalty on campus how does a coach keep his players from mailing in performances and losing easy games (a trademark of Howland's predecessor's teams and our current football team)? Not sure but it seems like B-Howl knows.

For an example of what can happen without this knowledge, see #3 ranked Memphis versus unknown and unranked Richmond on Tuesday night. Memphis, returning five starters and in a virtual tie with us for the second spot in the preseason coaches poll, was up by one at half time and losing late in the game. Of one of his best players (Antonio Anderson), Memphis coach John Calipari had this to say, "He was pathetic," and (he) played the worst game of his career. How is that for positive reinforcement? Howland he is not.

Also, check out what the Bruins were up to on their day off. If you have ESPN insider it is worth it to check out what Shipp had to say on the Pulse with Doug Gottlieb. Like the other returning Bruins, Shipp is hungry.

Heads up, if you can't make the game on Friday you can watch it for free on the Internet on cstv.

Some douche at the Daily Bruin writes some incoherent drivel about something or other. Good for a chuckle.

Add a little defense and we have a poor man's OJ Mayo. When I read a title like this on a sports site I usually assume some type of sexual assault has taken place.

By the way, K Love is much more attractive than Mayo.

B-Howl? Is that necessary?

Would you prefer B-land or B-how? Those sound like crap.
