I Prefer Miracle Whip

ESPN.com has an interesting article about OJ Mayo. The kid obviously has a team of publicists working for him. Almost no one has seen him play a game and we are already being told what a great guy he is. For some reason, every cocky black basketball phenom has one thing in common - Magic Johnson is their favorite player. No one says Jordan, Kobe or even Wilt. Gimmie a break. 90% of kids I knew growing up said Michael Jordan was their favorite, but not one of these kids who seemingly model their entire game after Jordan, make the obvious pick. With Mayo this is such a joke. We have all seen the video...this kid thinks he is the shit and lets face it, he probably is. So step up and tell the truth. you are going to take more shots than the rest of your team combined, when a game is on the line, you are never giving up that shot. You don't give a shit about college. How many times has this kid talked about his future in the NBA? Yet we are supposed to believe that he is knocking on his teammate's doors so they don't miss a practice. Pshaw.

Also, it is hilarious that all USC enthusiasts ignore the fact that his reason for going to USC is a total slap in the face. He basically wants to go to a team where he is the best player. Not for defensible reasons (i.e. perhaps he wants to build up a franchise), but for an entirely despicable reason - he wants to be the best player so that he will be the center of attention. He wants to be the guy that carries a pathetic squad as far as they can go (probably the sweet 16). The team that he has chosen as the epitome of mediocrity - the Trojans - you gotta love it.
