First, the bad news(football news):
We lost...again.
This does however, get the new coach talk going pretty much everywhere you look.
We dropped to number three in the coaches hot seat ranking - apparently our loss was not bad enough.
One play, on Saturday, summed up our entire season. In the stadium, it was like hearing 78,000 people getting kicked in the nuts.
Bill Plashke of the LA times weighs in on Dorrell's situation. I thought that Brandon Breazell's quote said a lot about the type of team that Dorrell runs:
"That was Meadows' play," said Breazell, blaming the kid without the scholarship. "All week he said, 'I got your back, I got your back' " . . . and then when game time comes, well . . . "
Now, the good news (basketball news):
I enjoy a good pun as much as the next guy, but this is going to get pretty tiring this season.
Hellene Elliott (yes, a woman) proves that being aware of the pun does not excuse it.
Jill Painter of the LA daily news gets in on the action.
The only newspaper that isn't quite clever enough to join the pun party...why the Daily Bruin of course.
And Howland had a few interesting things to say in a teleconference - here is the transcript to that.
