The Bruin Dynasty

As another great basketball season approaches, Im getting ready for camp outs at Pauley, painted chests, and vigorous eight claps. That’s right, I have the privilege of being a UCLA student during the resurgence of basketball greatness for the Bruins. I feel so lucky, we are so great, and I love UCLA basketball.

But that is not going to be my focus. Everyone knows we are great right now. But most fans don’t realize that our current position has dynasty written all over it. Yeah back to back final fours were great, but where are we heading as a program? You should be happy to know, we’re only getting better. Here are the two outstanding new ballers for this year, and the four currently committed for next year:

  1. Kevin Love. (Yeah, you've probably heard of him). If not, hes a 6'10” center out of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and he will start and make a huge impact his freshman year.

  2. Hometown man Chace Stanback, a 6'7” small forward, who is also a top 100 recruit.

And now for next years guys. This is where it gets really exciting. You can check out http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?ra_key=1617 to see their rankings at rivals.com (yes they are all top 60).

  1. Jrue Holiday, a 6'3” guard out of North Hollywood, the number three recruit for 2008.

  2. Jerime Anderson, a 6'2” guard out of Anaheim.

  3. Drew Gordon, a 6'8” forward out of San Jose.

  4. Malcom Lee, a 6'4” guard out of Riverside.

These are the six guys that we will be getting to know, following, and scrutinizing over the next few years of UCLA basketball. So why not start now? Over the next few weeks I will be going in depth on each of these guys, so you can really get to know them and the impact they will have on our beloved Bruins.

Oh yeah, and speaking of the new UCLA dynasty, Howland just signed a new 7 year contract. Look out Wooden! No, not really. But thats still freakin' sweet.
