For almost five years now we have put up with the abortion that is Karl Dorrell's tenure as head coach of our beloved team. It is time to move on. Every person I have talked to who watched the game this weekend has said the same thing, why did we pass so much? Our Quarterback was pathetic to the point where girls that I was watching the game with said they felt sorry for him, yet our fearless leader continued to call pass play after pass play. It doesn't matter how bad our offense is, the Notre Dame offense could not have scored without Dorrell's help. In fact this is the biggest indictment of Dorrell, he makes the seemingly impossible possible - in a bad way. That Notre Dame team cannot travel to the west coast and beat a team ranked 25 on their home turf, Utah cannot beat a team with no first string offensive players, and a 2005 3 and 5 Arizona team cannot beat an undefeated 7 ranked team with an explosive offense. In short, a big program with lots of money and a desire to win does not lose games like we lost on Saturday. Unless...well unless an x factor comes along and gives you a deep and lubeless ass-ramming. Well, Karl Dorrell is that x factor, and all those losses were deep and lubeless ass-rammings.
As you may have heard, another team from So Cal lost unexpectedly on Saturday. It does provide us Bruin fans with a little consolation, however, I do not like those that are saying that the fact that we are still atop the Pac-10 is something positive to focus on. Our team blows, and we have not played any of the tough opponents in the Pac-10. Yet look at Breazell's comment about the loss on Saturday. In effect, he said - non conference games do not matter at all. I wish he would have told us that before we paid good money to go to all those games this year or spent all that time caring about our team in the national rankings picture. Karl Dorrell pointed out the same thing in the post game conference. Eff you Karl...you can't beat horrible teams...and we still have to play Cal, Arizona State, Oregon, and USC as well as two other conference teams that would both destroy Notre Dame and Utah. So I am glad USC lost, but I am not excited about our Pac-10 hopes. I won't be excited about football again until the ass-rammer is ramming someone else's ass.
